Band 6 Core Community Midwife | Substantive

It is our pleasure to announce that the Community Midwifery Service is now recruiting core staff.

We are seeking experienced and enthusiastic Midwives who are passionate about delivering high-quality maternity care in the community and dedicated to enhancing the experience of our service users.

What We're Looking For
  • A positive attitude and genuine enthusiasm for community-based maternity care.
  • Strong teamworking skills and the ability to work independently across diverse community settings.
  • Excellent time management and organisational skills to manage busy caseloads.
  • A commitment to safe, responsive, and personalised care for mothers, babies, and families in their homes and local clinics.
  • A genuine interest in contributing to the ongoing development of community midwifery services.

Main Duties of the Job
As a Band 6 Core Community Midwife, you will:
  • Provide excellent community based maternity care
  • Act as a role model for junior staff and students, supporting their development in community practice.
  • Contribute to quality improvement initiatives within the community setting.
  • Take responsibility for a specific role within the team, such as:
    • Staff and student off-duty rota management
    • Delivering pregnancy birth and beyond classes
    • Breastfeeding Champion
    • Junior staff appraisals
    • Friends and Family lead
    • Audit and safeguarding responsibilities
    • Inclusivity and staff morale initiatives
    • Mental Health First Aider
