Job summary
We are seeking a motivated and experienced Pharmacy Supervisor to join our small, supportive dispensary-based training team within Leeds Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust. This exciting opportunity combines training and educational responsibilities with hands on involvement in the day to day operation of a busy Inpatient dispensary service.

The post holder will play a key role in supporting the induction, training, and development of Pre-registration Pharmacy Technicians, Pre-registration Pharmacists, Foundation Pharmacists, and other new starters across our inpatient pharmacy services. Working closely with the Pharmacy Technician Team Leader and Pharmacy Technicians, you will help coordinate structured induction programmes, provide one-to-one support, and contribute to creating a positive learning environment for new staff.

Alongside training responsibilities, you will support the safe and efficient dispensing of medicines, contribute to medication safety initiatives, and help ensure high standards of service delivery across our dispensaries. The role is based at St James's University Hospital, Leeds General Infirmary and Chapel Allerton Hospital as required.

Main duties of the job
You will have experience working within a hospital dispensary environment and a strong understanding of safe and effective medicines management processes. This post would suit an experienced pharmacy support worker, a registered pharmacy technician or someone who has the necessary organisational/ management skills and experience

We are looking for someone who is enthusiastic about education and workforce development, with excellent communication and interpersonal skills. You will be confident supporting learners and new starters, providing constructive feedback, and helping individuals develop their knowledge, skills, and confidence.

You will be organised, adaptable, and able to balance training responsibilities with operational demands. A commitment to patient safety, professionalism, and continuous improvement is essential, as is the ability to work collaboratively with colleagues across multiple sites and disciplines. Most importantly, you will be someone who enjoys supporting others and takes pride in helping colleagues succeed.
