Job SummaryA vacancy within the Cardiorespiratory CSU has become available for a motivated, dynamic, and resilient individual to join the Cardiology patient flow team. The successful individual will have had some experience of managing patient flow and/or patient placement at Band 5 or Band 6 level. The individual should be able to problem solve effectively and efficiently. We are looking for someone who is reliable with good communication skills. Cardiology knowledge is not essential but would be beneficial to the candidate.
The successful candidate will be responsible for the safe patient placement at the LGI site, this will include patients from Cardiology, Cardiac surgery, and the Regional Coronary Care Unit. The candidate will also support the flow through L14 Cardiology day case and the Cath labs. The candidate will help to support the ward teams, discharge team and the CSU Leader on point to achieve timely patient flow from ED, placement of elective Cardiac surgery cases and move patients from Adult Critical Care CSU in a timely manner.
What you will bring to the roleCriteria:
- Registered Nurse (Level 1)
- Evidence of continued professional development
- Willing to undergo training as necessary
- Significant post registration experience at Band 5 or equivalent and experience within a relevant speciality
- Patient flow role or experience
- Discharge role or experience.
- Cardiology knowledge (Desirable)
- Current issues in healthcare
- Capable of lateral thinking
- Excellent written and verbal skills
- Ability to organise and prioritise own and others workload
