Job summary
We are seeking a Band 6 clinician to join the Specialist Autism Team on a 24-month fixed-term basis.

We are an ambitious, energetic multidisciplinary team supporting Autistic young people aged 14+ and Autistic adults to better understand their Autism and access thoughtful, Autism-aware care.

Applications are welcomed from registered Nurses, Occupational Therapists, and Speech and Language Therapists.

The post holder will consistently deliver high-quality care, advocate for service users best interests, and work creatively and effectively with colleagues, carers, relatives, and service users.

The successful applicant will play a vital role within a growing service and should be enthusiastic about change, innovation, and service development. As a team, we are committed to learning, reducing inequality, and improving the quality and accessibility of the services we provide.

Applicants should demonstrate, through both their application and recruitment process, a strong commitment to supporting Autistic people, an understanding of their needs, and a proven track record of improving care.

The successful candidate will also have knowledge and appreciation of the range of approaches used to support Autistic people, informed by the theory and research base of their professional discipline.

The post holder must hold a full UK driving licence and have access to a car.

Main duties of the job
Main duties and responsibilities
To work as a specialist clinician to utilise, develop and enhance clinical and professional skills within the Service, in order to deliver high standards of practice.

To work collaboratively within a Multi-Disciplinary format providing specialist assessment and treatment in clinical care pathways, in accordance with the post holder’s clinical registration.

To contribute to a range of clinical functions within the team, including triaging referrals, undertaking assessment and overseeing queries on duty.

To deliver a specialist autism-aware service to patients within a variety of settings, requiring flexibility/adaptability in recognising the complexity of these environments to maximise their abilities and opportunities for health and wellbeing.
