About the role
What if your next pharmacy role gave you the opportunity to experience different communities, work with a variety of pharmacy teams and build your career with a pharmacy group that puts people at the heart of everything it does?

At Lincolnshire Co-op, we believe community pharmacy is about much more than dispensing prescriptions.

Our pharmacies are at the heart of local communities, providing expert clinical care, accessible health services and trusted advice to the people we serve.

As a Relief Pharmacist, you'll play a vital role in supporting our pharmacies across Lincolnshire, using your clinical expertise and adaptability to provide an excellent service wherever you're needed.

Whether you're stepping into a new pharmacy, supporting a familiar team or helping us maintain a high standard of service during periods of absence, every day will bring something different.

What will you be doing?
As a Relief Pharmacist, you'll have the opportunity to work across a range of our community pharmacies, building relationships with different teams and patients while maintaining the high standards of care we're known for.

In this role, you will:
  • Deliver safe, effective and high-quality clinical care, including the provision of prescriptions, medicines and pharmacy services.
  • Provide professional advice and support to patients, members and healthcare professionals.
  • Adapt quickly to different pharmacy environments, teams and ways of working.
  • Build trusted relationships with patients and colleagues, providing a consistent and welcoming experience wherever you're working.
  • Support the delivery of NHS and locally commissioned pharmacy services.
  • Ensure the highest standards of patient safety, clinical governance and regulatory compliance.
  • Work collaboratively with pharmacy teams to support the smooth and effective running of each pharmacy.
  • Use your knowledge and experience to provide guidance and support to colleagues when needed.
  • Contribute to a positive customer experience by combining professional expertise with genuine care and compassion.
  • Help maintain high standards across our pharmacies, supporting teams to deliver excellent patient care.

You won't be doing this alone. You'll be part of a wider network of pharmacy professionals, managers and specialist teams who are passionate about community healthcare and supporting our colleagues.

About you
Relief pharmacy is all about adaptability.

You might already be an experienced community pharmacist, or you could be looking for a role that gives you greater variety and the opportunity to broaden your experience across different pharmacy environments.

What matters most to us is your passion for patient care, your ability to adapt and your confidence working as part of different teams.

You'll probably recognise yourself in this if:
  • You're a qualified pharmacist with a Master's degree in Pharmacy (MPharm) and current registration with the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC).
  • You're confident delivering professional clinical advice and pharmacy services.
  • You enjoy meeting new people and building positive relationships quickly.
  • You're adaptable and comfortable working in different pharmacy environments.
  • You're organised and able to manage changing priorities.
  • You can work independently while also becoming a valued member of different pharmacy teams.
  • You're committed to maintaining high standards of patient safety, governance and regulatory compliance.
  • You're passionate about providing an excellent experience for patients and members.
  • You're motivated by the opportunity to make a difference to the health and wellbeing of the communities you support.

Whether you're an experienced community pharmacist looking for greater variety, or you're looking for a role that will broaden your experience across different pharmacies, we'd love to hear from you.

Why this role matters
Community pharmacies are an essential part of local healthcare.

Every day, people rely on us for expert advice, reassurance, treatment and support. As a Relief Pharmacist, you'll play an important role in making sure our pharmacies continue to provide that care, whatever the circumstances.

You'll have the opportunity to:
  • Work with a variety of pharmacy teams and communities.
  • Build your experience across different pharmacy environments.
  • Support pharmacies when they need additional clinical expertise.
  • Develop strong relationships with patients and colleagues across our communities.
  • Share your knowledge and experience with different teams.
  • Make a positive difference wherever you're working.

Most importantly, you'll help us deliver on our purpose of bringing together ideas, energy and resources to make life better in our communities.

What you'll get in return
Alongside the opportunity to work across our pharmacies and make a genuine difference to people's lives, you'll receive:
  • Up to 34 days annual leave (pro rata), including bank holidays.
  • A pension scheme with up to 12% employer contributions.
  • Generous colleague discounts across our family of businesses.
  • Annual discretionary performance-based bonuses.
  • Full reimbursement of your GPhC fees.
  • Access to a wide range of professional development opportunities.
  • Opportunities to work as a Clinical Pharmacist or Independent Prescriber within GP surgeries and community hospitals.
  • Free tea and coffee during rest breaks.
  • Wellbeing support and community engagement opportunities.

We're also proud to be an Investors in People Platinum employer, recognising our commitment to helping colleagues learn, develop and build rewarding careers.

Through our close partnership with the University of Lincoln School of Pharmacy, you'll also have access to unique development opportunities, with some of our pharmacists working as Teacher Practitioners to support the next generation of pharmacy professionals.

A final thought...
You've probably seen Relief Pharmacist roles before.

But this is an opportunity to do something different.

Instead of being based in just one pharmacy, you'll have the opportunity to experience different teams, meet new patients and support communities across our pharmacy network.

If you're adaptable, clinically confident and enjoy variety in your working day, a Relief Pharmacist role with Lincolnshire Co-op could be the perfect next step.

If that sounds like the kind of pharmacy career you're looking for, we'd love to hear from you.
