An exciting opportunity has arisen to offer a 12 month secondment to the Perinatal team

The post is available for a B6 Mental Health Nurse who ideally has community experience & ideally some experience of working with families.

The post is 37.5 hours and this would be worked over 5 days. The operational hours for the team are Monday-Friday 0900 -1700hrs, based at Elm Lodge in Grantham, covering Sleaford, Grantham, Bourne, Stamford, Deepings and surrounding areas.

You will be working with a full MDT who are dedicated to providing high, quality care to Women in the preconception, ante natal & post natal period.

Main duties of the job
It is essential that you have experience of providing trauma-informed care & have individual personal qualities of kindness, care and compassion.

All successful candidates will receive a 6 week internal Perinatal-specific induction programme, ensuring that you have several opportunities to shadow all members of the MDT.

It is important to highlight that we are a countywide service and cover the whole of Lincolnshire and the expectation is that you wil assist in other areas other than your base whe there is an increased service need.

You will be expected to work collaboratively alongside other teams and services who may be involved in the care of our patients and their family.

As part of the role you will be assessing & providing care & treatment to pregnant & post natal women who are experiencing moderate to severe mental health

Qualifications
Essential

• RVN or RNLD or RN: 1st Level Registration (NMC) or degree or equivalent
• Currently Registered Nurse
• ENB998 / FliPS or equivalent
• Mentorship Module (degree level)
• Evidence of specialised continued professional training (degree level) in clinical practice.

Desirable

• Management training

Experience
Essential

• Relevant knowledge/experience of Perinatal Mental Health assessment and care planning
• Experience of working with individuals in crisis in an inpatient or community setting
• Experience of working with people with severe and enduring mental illnesses
• Evidence of continuing professional development

Desirable

• Previous experience of working with women whose pregnancy or postnatal period is complicated by serious mental illness in any setting

Skills
Essential

• Sound knowledge of national agenda for mental health.
• Highly developed clinical reasoning skills
• Sound knowledge of clinical/risk assessment and understanding of Information Goverance principles.
• Highly developed communication skills.
• Delegation whilst maintaining overall responsibility for patients care, where appropriate.
• Demonstrate the ability to lead a clinical team.
• Highly motivated & able to engage with service users & carers to improve outcomes.
• Ability to travel independently across the county
