Advanced Clinical Practitioner to join our team based within our
Minor Illness Service at
Leeds General Infirmary, working across 7 days between the hours of 8am to midnight.
What the Role OffersThis role provides the opportunity to work autonomously as an independent healthcare practitioner within a minor illness unit. Delivering a high quality of care across a range of agreed conditions. Treat both adult patients and paediatric patients from birth.
You will utilise your advanced clinical skills undertaking patient assessment, diagnosis, treatment, onwards referrals where appropriate and safe discharge.
You will provide support with clinical mentorship and also contribute to creating a positive working environment for staff.
Pay RatesRates vary depending on the time of day worked:
- In Hours: £29.89 per hour Monday to Friday, 08.00 18.00
- Out of Hours: £38.86 per hour Monday to Friday, 18.00 08.00 and all day Saturday and Sunday
Base LocationMinor Illness Service is based on X34, B Floor, Brotherton Wing, Leeds General Infirmary, Great George Street, Leeds, LS1 3EX
Hours & Working PatternThe service operates 7 days per week. Between the hours of 8am to midnight. With the expectation successful candidates will work 8 hours shift patterns.
Please note: our rota operates on a 4-week rolling basis to meet service demandMain duties of the jobMain Duties and Responsibilities- Independently undertake assessment, diagnosis, treatment/referral and safe discharge of patients with minor illness.
- Maintain effective communication with patients, carers and professionals to ensure seamless service delivery.
- Actively promote collaborative working with all healthcare professionals within Local Care Direct, and with our partner colleges within Leeds General Infirmary.
- Take part in daily safety huddles with colleagues at Leeds General Infirmary to support safe, seamless patient streaming from the Emergency Department to the Minor Illness Unit.
- Provide professional and clinical advice within the multi-disciplinary team.
- Demonstrate evidence-based care, working within agreed guidelines and protocols.
- Support professional development through training, clinical supervision, teaching, mentoring and revalidation, while maintaining professional standards and organisational governance.
- Ensuring quality of patient care remains at the centre of your clinical decisionmaking on every shift.

- A clear understanding of patient safety, quality standards and CQC compliance
