Job summaryPlease note this role is currently only being advertised to staff members who are currently working within the Kent and Medway ICS.We are seeking two exceptional individuals to act as Enhanced Care Team leaders, who will deliver effective and efficient operational management and clinical oversight of enhanced care within the organisation to our most vulnerable patients. The postholder will work closely with emergency department and inpatient ward staff, providing expert assessment and allocation of resources, and providing motivational leadership to a team of junior staff, role modelling a psychologically safe and trauma-informed approach.
Main duties of the jobThe enhanced care team leader will be responsible for working within the set budget, clinical governance, and staff development and training. The post holder will be expected to provide professional leadership within the clinical area and provide direction, and inspirational leadership to all members of the multi-disciplinary team working alongside the enhanced care team. The post holder will be involved in the development of protocols/guidelines and patient information.
The post holder will be responsible for ensuring that there are systems and processes for the planning, provision and review of enhanced care. The post holder will ensure that the enhanced care team deliver therapeutic engagement and interventions to patients with mental health conditions, cognitive impairment or those experiencing psychological distress whilst working in collaboration with internal and external stakeholders such as the Liaison Psychiatry Service.
They will provide regular reports on the effectiveness of the team in delivering quality care by reducing restrictive practices and incidents of harm.

The programme includes supernumerary shifts in the clinical area, classroom-based sessions and e-learning.
Person SpecificationQualifications/ Experience/ KnowledgeEssential- Current professional registration as an RMN/AHP/Social Worker with extensive experience of managing a caseload of patients.
- Formal postgraduate qualification in leadership, advanced clinical practise or a relevant specialist area or equivalent relevant experience. Or evidence of postgraduate level knowledge such as level 7 in leadership, complex care, mental health, dementia or behaviour management or equivalent relevant experience.
- Mentorship course or equivalent
- Management qualification or equivalent experience
- Evidence of ongoing professional development in relevant area of speciality supplemented by specialist clinical, managerial training and CPD
- Extensive experience of managing an area; including management of rotas, resources, budgets and staff
- Experience in staff / practice development including undertaking appraisals, supervision and Personal Development Plans
- Recent Complex Care experience
- Evidence of working extensively within Mental Health / Social care settings
- Extensive experience of Mental Health Service Provision including the Mental Health Act 1983
- Experience of delivering/supporting training
- Knowledge of patient discharge processes
- Knowledge of healthcare funding processes
- Knowledge of relevant legislation relating to patient care
Desirable- Post graduate teaching certificate/module.
- Relevant post registered qualifications
- Safeguarding Adults Level 3
- Managing Challenging Behaviours and Physical Intervention training or equivalent
