Job summaryThis is a split post across 2 well established and innovative CAMH services offering 12 months maternity cover (0.6 wte) for targeted support to cared for children. Manchester CAMHS-LAC is a long established multi-agency and multidisciplinary service. The service provides a specialist, targeted, city wide service to children and young people (0 - 18 years) who are cared for by Manchester City Council. There is extensive liaison, consultation and work with foster carers and professionals from Children's Services and all associated networks. This is an experienced trauma informed team and consequently there are plenty of opportunities for CPD and learning as well as joint working opportunities. The post holder will work in CAMHS LAC offering assessment and intervention, specialist consultation and staff training as part of this team. The other part of the post will be the North CAMHS team supporting children and young people referred to the team who are cared for by Greater Manchester (GM) local authorities.
Main duties of the jobThe main duties include providing consultation, training and a range of high quality interventions appropriate to the child or young person's needs which will include; mental state assessment, risk assessment and management and evidence based interventions. The post holder will have a range of skills and knowledge base to deliver clinical aspects of the role in a multi-disciplinary team setting and will be competent to do this work as an autonomous practitioner within professional practice guidelines. - Standard DBS: Checks for spent and unspent convictions, cautions, reprimands, and final warnings.

- Experience in working with Looked After Children and multi-agency working
- Experience in assessment and therapeutic work with children and families across the age range
- Experience of consulting with health care and other professionals.
- Experience of assessing and managing risk: including safeguarding.
- Experience of developing and providing evidenced based assessments, formulations, and care plans and effective use of ROMS.
- Experience of hard to reach diverse community groups and individuals with emerging complex needs, dual diagnoses, people with additional disabilities and safeguarding.
- Experience of liaison and working with a range of other relevant agencies and professionals, including managing difficult conversations and differences of opinion.
- Experience of mentoring and supervision of others, including supporting the mental health and wellbeing of junior staff and trainees.
