Job summary
An exciting and new opportunity has arisen for a Matron to join the Leadership team within Urgent Care community services. Our responsive services include Clinical Single Point of Access, Crisis Response, Discharge to Assess, IV Therapy, Hospital at Home and Intermediate Care. This role will be instrumental in the leadership and management of the virtual services within the division including Acute Hospital at Home.

Main duties of the job
In this role you will work closely with the Clinical lead and as part of the management team, providing clinical advice and leadership to colleagues in the organisation and working in partnership with a range of other agencies. You will have specific responsibility for clinical governance within the portfolio of services, driving the quality agenda and implementation of quality improvement strategies.

You will need to be able to demonstrate excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a driving passion and determination to support the clinical teams, with a focus on clinical quality. The successful candidates will need to have a good clinical knowledge base, and together with proven experience of community working and leadership skills.A proven track record of supporting change processes, coupled with good influencing and negotiation skills are key attributes required for this post in order to provide an integrated and effective service focusing on the delivery and assurance of safe, high quality patient care across our services.

You will be resilient, hard working and have a strong work ethic, with the ability to manage complex situations as well as being well organised and innovative.

You will have an interest in the provision of virtual care to patients and their families through a robust telemedicine and remote monitoring approach

Person Specification
Qualifications - Essential

• Registered Nurse on NMC register or registered AHP on HCPC register
• Independent Non-Medical Prescriber V300 or willingness to undertake the course within 12 months

Qualifications - Desirable

• Leadership qualification

Experience - Essential

• Relevant experience in community care delivery
• Governance, risk management and service improvement
• Experience of working in a leadership role and implementing change
• Preparing and presenting reports for consideration at meetings
• Incorporating patient/user views into the provision of services
• Experience of working with individuals and teams across strategic, organisational and professional boundaries to achieve common goals
• Managing a multidisciplinary service

Experience - Desirable

• Demonstrable success in delivering change and improvements in performance with clinical teams
• Ability to demonstrate innovative practice
• Evidence of delivering teaching programmes
