Job summary
An exciting opportunity has arisen to join Manchester University NHS Foundation Trust as an Advanced Pelvic Floor and Sacral Neuromodulation Practitioner within the Colorectal Surgical Service.

This is a unique advanced practice role for an experienced clinician who is passionate about improving the lives of patients living with pelvic floor dysfunction, functional bowel disorders and sacral neuromodulation needs. The successful candidate will provide expert autonomous clinical care whilst leading service development across a specialist pathway that supports patients with often complex and life-changing conditions.

Working closely with colorectal consultants, the Healthy Bowel Service and the wider multidisciplinary team, you will manage a complex caseload, coordinate care across organisational boundaries and contribute to the strategic development of pelvic floor and neuromodulation services. This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious advanced practitioner looking to lead innovation, improve patient outcomes and influence service delivery across a specialist regional service.

  • Provide expert assessment, clinical decision-making and management of patients with pelvic floor dysfunction and functional bowel disorders.
  • Manage an autonomous caseload across outpatient, inpatient, telephone and virtual care settings.
  • Deliver specialist interventions including conservative bowel management, pelvic floor rehabilitation, biofeedback, rectal irrigation education and neuromodulation support where competent.
  • Support patients before and after sacral neuromodulation procedures, providing education, counselling and device management.
  • Act as a key worker, coordinating care across primary, secondary and community services.
  • Provide specialist advice and education to patients, carers and healthcare professionals.
  • Lead quality improvement, audit, research and service development initiatives.
  • Contribute to pathway redesign, service resilience and workforce development across the pelvic floor and Healthy Bowel services.
  • Supervise, support and develop staff, students and learners across the multidisciplinary team.
