Job summary
We are seeking an experienced and motivated Clinical Research Midwife to join the NIHR Maternity Disparities Consortium at MFT. Working within the Access, Communication and Experience (M-ACE) workstream, the post holder will support research aimed at reducing inequalities in maternity care and improving women's experiences of services. The role will involve research delivery, stakeholder engagement, data collection and analysis, patient and public involvement and engagement (PPIE), dissemination of findings, and the development of research outputs. This post offers an excellent opportunity for an aspiring clinical academic to gain experience within a national NIHR-funded research programme, with support to develop skills in research delivery, academic writing, conference presentation, stakeholder engagement and clinical academic career development. The role is particularly suited to a midwife with a passion for addressing maternity inequalities and an ambition to progress towards doctoral-level research training. Experience of maternity inequalities, access to care, qualitative and/or quantitative research, co-production and PPIE is desirable. Flexible working arrangements are available, with attendance at MFT and other participating sites as required. A comprehensive induction, tailored development plan and ongoing support will be provided.

Main duties of the job
The post holder will lead and support research within the NIHR Maternity Disparities Consortium, focusing on improving access to maternity care, communication, and women's experiences of services. They will coordinate and deliver research studies, recruit and support participants, collect and analyse data, and ensure compliance with research governance and Good Clinical Practice standards. The role involves working collaboratively with maternity services, community partners, patients, and multidisciplinary teams to develop evidence-based improvements in care. The post holder will also contribute to research publications, presentations, stakeholder engagement, patient and public involvement activities, and the development of clinical academic research capacity across MFT

The Costs for a DBS
At Manchester University NHS Foundation Trust (MFT), roles that require a DBS check are subject to a cost recovery policy.
