Job summaryWe are looking to appoint an enthusiastic and highly motivated senior nurse. You will be part of the senior nursing team working in partnership with the Ward Manager, Matron and Lead Nurse. Part of your role will include providing leadership to the nursing team through the promotion of trust values. This will involve contributing to further developing quality, patient experience, and patient safety agendas
This role would suit someone who wants to develop their clinical, managerial skills and is seeking progression in this area.
You will be encouraged to develop your own style of leadership and help the ward develop a first class care environment. Alongside your role you will have the opportunity to attend external training courses in clinical skills and leadership with the potential for funding to be provided.
Main duties of the jobAs a ward sister or charge nurse, you will be the responsible nurse in charge for the unit. You will also be responsible for assisting the ward manager with day to day activities such as:
You will prioritise, admit, assess, plan, evaluate and deliver all relevant aspects of care of the patient's journey to the expected high standard.
You will coordinate day to day shift and be responsible for the patient flow and coordinate care on the unit.
You will work as a key member of the multi-disciplinary team and contribute to the processes that promote patient safety and quality of care in line with clinical governance frameworks.
You will support the junior and the newly qualified. You will be supported in your role clinically by an experienced Ward Manager, Matron and Lead Nurse.
