Job summaryWe are looking for a Clinical Lead that is committed, innovative, and has the vision and leadership skills to lead our Southport CORE24 service.
You will lead a multidisciplinary team working to ensure that Southport General and Formby hospital is supported in the effective assessment and treatment of service users with mental health issues. This will include providing responsive, emergency assessments within the A&E Department as well as mental health liaison to the wards.
We are looking for an individual who is passionate about urgent mental health care, with a desire to continually improve what we do.
Main duties of the jobIn this position you will play a key role in leadership and continued development of the service, working closely with the leadership team as well as developing relationships with key figures from the acute Trust.The role will include:
- Assist in the development and implementation of integrated care pathways
- Work in a professional and collaborative manner with the multi-disciplinary team.
- Participate and promote positive intra-agency working.
- Support the formulation and implementation of clinical and operational practices and procedures.
- Participate in the recruitment, selection and induction of new staff
- Assist in the management and coordination of all services delivered to the service user
- Ensure effective processes of communication are established, maintained and regularly evaluated within designated team
- Provide performance information, analysing to ensure patients are receiving timely access to services

- Support the implementation, monitoring and updating of an operational policy and philosophy for the clinical area
- Ensure the principles of clinical governance are incorporated in service delivery in maintaining a high quality service based on agreed clinical standards
- Ensure that service users are cared for within the confines of their respective Mental Health Act status and adhere to the requirements of the MHA 1983 and the corresponding Code of Practice. This may include liaison with the home office for restricted service users
- Ensure adherence and implementation of Effective Care Coordination
- Ensure that Trust policies and procedures are adhered to
- Assist in the development of local protocols to ensure a high standard of service delivery is achieved and maintained
- Support the process of staff participation in the formulation of new ideas/suggestions to improve service user care and service delivery

Person SpecificationQualificationsEssential- Relevant professional qualification - RMN / Occupational Therapist
Desirable- NMP Qualification
- Completed course/module research methods
ExperienceEssential- Significant evidence of post registration experience, in relevant service areas.
- Significant evidence of delivering teaching programmes to staff groups.
- Understanding of Adult safeguarding issues
- Competent in use of IT packages such as Microsoft Word and PowerPoint
- Evidence of audit's undertaken and outcomes.
Desirable- Experience, of presentations at local, regional, national level.
- Experience of providing supervision to others, and experience in a leadership role.
- Competent in using databases and spread sheets
