Description

Mid and South Essex NHS Foundation Trust
(**) Gynaecology Cancer Nurse Specialist

Job summary
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a motivated and enthusiastic Band 6 Registered Nurse to join the Gynaecology Cancer and Diagnostic Service. This role has been developed to support the growing demands of the gynaecology cancer pathway.

The post holder will provide specialist nursing support to patients referred through the Two Week Wait (2WW) and Faster Diagnosis Standard (FDS) pathways, ensuring timely assessment, investigation, follow-up, and progression through the diagnostic process. Working closely with the multidisciplinary team, the post holder will contribute to the delivery of high-quality, evidence-based, patient-centred care and act as a key point of contact for patients throughout their diagnostic journey.

The role will include pathway coordination, patient assessment, nurse-led follow-up, and liaison with clinical, diagnostic, and administrative teams to support the efficient management of patients. The successful candidate will be supported to develop specialist skills and competencies in nurse-led diagnostic services, including WID-easy testing, Pipelle biopsy, hysteroscopy, and telephone clinics.

This is an ideal opportunity for a registered nurse with demonstrable post-registration experience who has an interest in women's health and wishes to develop expertise in gynaecological diagnostics, cancer pathways, and advanced nursing practice.
