Job summaryAre you passionate about supporting our future Allied Health Professions (AHPs) workforce? Are you a HCPC registered AHP with significant experience of educating learners on clinical placement and supporting newly qualified AHPs into the workplace? We are looking for a highly motivated HCPC registered professional to join our Continued Professional Development and Placement Team under AHP Professional Leadership.
This role will lead the delivery of our new Midlands AHP Preceptorship Programme and apprenticeship portfolio. You will need to lead with compassion and be able to demonstrate your skills across all four pillars of advanced practice. The focus of this role will be within the education and leadership pillar. You will need to be highly organised, used to working within a team, collaborating with multiple teams and partners and be self motivated.
Main duties of the job- To lead in the area of AHP apprenticeships and Preceptorship ensuring that AHP apprentices, preceptees and preceptors have a positive experience which supports their learning in practice delivered in line with the Safe Learning and Education Charter (SLEC).
- The role will ensure that the Trusts placement capacity is matched to the demand of AHP apprentices which are needed to ensure a supply of high-quality staff in different roles to deliver the highest quality care for our patients. The role will manage and deliver a quality AHP Preceptorship Programme for all AHP preceptees and preceptors in the Trust working with key partners as required.
- The post holder will support the operational management of the AHP Clinical Placement Team supported by the AHP Professional Lead for Workforce.

If you have used AI you must state this in your application.Job responsibilities- To deliver a high-quality allied health professions (AHP) preceptorship and apprenticeship programme that is fit for purpose for all AHP professions in line with the NHS Workforce Plan, HCPC Principles of Preceptorship, AHP Preceptorship Standards and Framework working in collaboration with senior colleagues in the Trust supported by the AHP Professional Lead for Workforce.
- Have an excellent and high specialist working knowledge of apprenticeship standards and the rules that govern the funding and delivery of apprenticeships. Work closely with HEIs and other education providers to facilitate changes in pre and post-registration education programmes/apprenticeships that support the Trusts strategy requirements and the needs of the workforce.
- Lead on internal and external advertising and recruitment strategies for AHP apprenticeships within the Trust in co-production with selected training providers/HEIs and in close collaboration with AHP Professional Leads, Care Groups, and ICS colleagues where appropriate.
- Lead on career development conversations with aspiring apprentices and their managers and mentors, utilising coaching skills to facilitate appropriate career pathways that are a best fit for the individual and service whilst managing expectations of the commitment to the programmes from the apprentice and service.
- Provide support to aspiring apprentices and managers to navigate the apprenticeship application process, ensuring staff and team readiness for undertaking an AHP apprenticeship. Demonstrating a commitment to the widening participation agenda, facilitate learning opportunities for aspiring apprentices e.g. training and education schemes such as functional skills level 2 obtainment and bridging courses.

- Has supported preceptees or new starters and understands HCPC requirements / national picture
