As Team Leader you will provide operational leadership to a skilled and dedicated multidisciplinary team. You will support staff to deliver high-quality autism assessments and intervention, champion continuous improvement and work collaboratively with families, education, health and social partners to achieve the best outcomes for children and young people.

Main duties of the job
The post holder carries day to day responsibility for the operational management and delivery of a CYP Autism Service across South Staffordshire.

The post holder, with the support of the Service Manager, will hold delegated responsibility for the management of the service budget.

The post holder will have responsibility for ensuring performance within designated trust standards including clinical, key performance indicators and financial management targets.

The post holder will ensure that a high quality of service is delivered within this clinical area and that all National and Trust targets and standards are adhered to including the recording of information within the IT systems.

Job responsibilities

• To engage in and support the development of policies, procedures and working practices within the team. Ensure implementation, monitoring, evaluation and compliance with all policies and procedures in area of responsibility.
• Work collaboratively with the Service Manager, and team clinical leads in the planning and delivery of the service.
• To ensure that all Trust policies and guidelines are adhered to and provide guidance to clinical staff regarding implementation.
• To support the local implementation/development of National strategies and to initiate change and practice development.
• Maintains the achievement of Key Performance Indicators and Essential Standards Authorised signatory for budgets associated with the delivery of all aspects of clinical care.
• Day to day line management responsibility for staff working within the service including management of sickness, performance, recruitment and appraisals.

Qualifications and Training
Essential

• Educated to degree or equivalent demonstrable knowledge and experience
• Post graduate qualification or evidence of formal courses and training at post graduate level 2
• Leadership or management training or qualification (or demonstrable experience)

Desirable

• Experience and/or evidence of formal courses and training at post graduate diploma level 2
• Relevant professional qualification (for example Occupational Therapy, Speech and Language Therapy, Nursing, Psychology, Social Work) or equivalent

Experience
Essential

• Evidence of substantial experience of working within services for children and young people with LD, Mental Health and Autism and their families
• Experience of effectively initiating, developing, implementing and evaluating operational processes
• Experience in the direct line management of health or social care staff
• Evidence of improving service delivery in line with evidence-based practice
• Demonstrable experience of effective multi-disciplinary team working
• Demonstrate experience in performance management, supervision of others and conducting Appraisals

Desirable

• Experience of inputting into Health Roster system (or equivalent electronic system to input staff absence, sickness
• Experience of managing multi-disciplinary teams.
