Essex MID CAMHS team have an exciting opportunity for a CAMHS Practitioner role co-located within the Mid Essex Youth Justice service. The applicant will provide consultation and support to the Youth Justice team for young people presenting with emotional and mental health difficulties. The role also includes assessment and treatment for young people open to Youth Justice with a range of emotional health needs. The role will be based in Chelmsford but covers the whole of MID Essex including Braintree, Halstead and Maldon.
The Essex CAMHS service works to the i Thrive model providing a range of evidence based interventions such as CBT, DBT and trauma informed approaches. The service uses outcome measures to track progress and inform formulation and manage risk. We are looking for clinicians with experience in working with young people who present with complex needs and have experience of working as a part of a multi agency network.
Main duties of the job- To routinely measure clinical outcomes and deliver evidence-based clinical interventions, both in-line with the CYP-IAPT programme within SET CAMHS.
- The post holder will be responsible for delivering clinical interventions within SET CAMHS/Youth Justice settings to children, young people and their families/carers.
- To be able to assess and develop plans of care to meet the complex needs of patients with a variety of conditions. This includes brief and longer-term intervention through NICE recommended treatments.
- Providing a direct service to children and young people and their families, in an accessible and less stigmatizing environment, based on the best available research evidence, within clinical governance.
- To be part of the Youth Justice team, providing support and guidance on mental health presentations in young people and providing direct interventions.

Starting with NELFTNELFT place a great deal of importance on new starters being properly welcomed and inducted into the Trust. All new starters will join the Trust on the first Monday of each month and will undertake a comprehensive induction of up to two weeks which will include mandatory training, systems training and the allocation of equipment. As part of the process new starters will have the opportunity to also meet the executive team, senior managers, and attend a number of drop-in sessions focusing on engagement, health and wellbeing and key processes. The induction will be held at our head office in Goodmayes Hospital.
