The post holder will achieve this by:
Acting as a senior clinician within NELFT Adult ADHD Service which will provide specialist advice & guidance, screening for symptoms of ADHD. Also providing early interventions, diagnostic assessment, and ongoing support with mental health through psychological interventions.
Providing specialist post intervention services to individuals referred to the Adult ADHD Service.
Providing comprehensive mental health needs and risk assessments of clients within the Adult ADHD Service.
Providing consultation and liaison to other professionals working with individuals within the Adult ADHD Service in the Barking and Dagenham, Havering, Redbridge, and Waltham Forest.
Contributing to delivery of specialist ADHD training across different tiers of service and within the wider professional network.
Main duties of the jobKey Responsibilities:
To be responsible for organising and prioritising own and others workload in the day-to-day allocation of work.
To deputise when required in the team managers absence.
To have organisational knowledge relating to Trust protocols and procedures and adhere to them.
To be responsible for providing accurate records of information required by the Trust for audit purposes.
To ensure effective risk management at team level by accident/incident reporting, assessing risk and ensuring they are added to the Trust register when appropriate.
Clinical Skills
To be responsible for undertaking comprehensive diagnostic assessment of referred individuals.
To provide signposting to referred clients and their families.
To support the delivery of brief intervention, low and high intensity cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT) for those people diagnosed with ADHD either as individuals or as a group using evidence-based approaches.
To provide direct supervision to less experienced colleagues.
To provide consultation to other clinical teams within NELFT regarding clients with possible ADHD.
To conduct ongoing assessments for ADHD comorbid with depression/anxiety and or other conditions. Assessments to include risk / need in relation to the individual and their families.

About YouWe're looking for a warm, compassionate, and experienced clinician who is passionate about improving the lives of adults with ADHD. Whether you're a Clinical Psychologist or a Counselling Psychologist. Holding BABCP-accredited CBT qualification would be advantages, but not essential. You'll bring a strong track record of delivering high-quality psychological assessment and intervention, along with the confidence to work with complex mental health presentations. You'll enjoy working collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams, be keen to share your knowledge through supervision and training, and have a genuine interest in helping shape and develop services. - Doctorate qualification in psychology (Clinical or Counselling) or equivalent accredited by the BPS
- HCPC registered Clinical or Counselling Psychologist, and or equivalent accredited by the BPS
- Qualification in one or more modality of psychology
- Evidence of Continuing Professional Development as required by the BPS and or BABCP.
Desirable- BABCP registered & accredited Cognitive Behavioural Psychotherapist.
- Recognised qualification and/or training in supervision
ExperienceEssential- Substantial recent post - qualification experience in a designated post within services for ADHD, cognitive disorders or other relevant service area.
- Knowledge and experience with working with safeguarding issues, issues concerning risk and highly complex mental health problems.
- Experience of supervising qualified practitioners and / or students / trainee psychologists and or psychotherapist.
- Experience of co-working with colleagues from a variety of different disciplines and trainings.
- Experience of working with individuals and families from diverse ethnic, economic and cultural backgrounds.
Desirable- Experience of delivering specialist consultation / training to a variety of audiences
