MID Essex SET CAMHS are looking to recruit to 1 full time and 1 part time (0.6wte) Band 8a clinical roles.
Join a dynamic and evolving SET CAMHS service in MID Essex where innovation, collaboration and co-production are at the heart of everything we do. We are seeking an experienced Psychologist/Psychological Therapist with the appropriate professional training and registration, as outlined in the Job Description, to play a key clinical leadership role within our multidisciplinary team. The MID Essex Team has a base in Chelmsford and covers a large area covering Chelmsford/Braintree/Maldon.
Working within the principles of the iThrive model, you will provide specialist assessment and therapeutic interventions for children and young people presenting with a range of complex mental health needs. Alongside the Operational Manager and other clinical leads, you will contribute to the development of a supportive, reflective, and psychologically informed MDT culture. One that values creativity, flexibility, and evidence-based practice, while offering clinical oversight and containment to colleagues, and supporting high standards of care.
As part of our Clinical Leadership Team, you will be supported by the principal clinical lead to collaboratively
Main duties of the job- To provide an efficient, effective, comprehensive and specialist psychological service for children and adolescents with emotional and mental health problems, their carers/parents and families.
- To contribute to multi-disciplinary assessment and treatment of children and adolescents with emotional and mental health problems, their carers/parents and families.
- To undertake a range of highly specialist clinical work, urgent assessment work, parenting support and specialist cases.
- To provide extensive expert supervision and consultation on SET CAMHS cases to other multi-disciplinary staff within SET CAMHS, including junior medical staff.
- To contribute to audit and research.
- To actively engage in treatment and outcome monitoring, including the use of normed measures associated with CYP-IAPT
- To work in clinical practice, making use of supervision, within the overall framework SET CAMHS and the Trusts policies and procedures

Job descriptionJob responsibilitiesNELFT place a great deal of importance on new starters being properly welcomed and inducted into the Trust. All new starters will join the Trust on the first Monday of each month and will undertake a comprehensive induction of up to two weeks which will include mandatory training, systems training and the allocation of equipment. As part of the process new starters will have the opportunity to also meet the executive team, senior managers and attend a number of drop-in sessions focusing on engagement, health and wellbeing and key processes. The induction will be held at our head office in Rainham, Essex.
