Job responsibilitiesProfessional & Educational Duties- Adhere to HCPC/NMC Code of Conduct and regulatory standards
- Maintain professional registration and complete mandatory training
- Participate in supervision and reviews including competency assessments
- Engage in audits, research, and teaching activities
ACP/ANP-Specific Requirements- Perform advanced clinical assessments in routine and urgent care settings
- Hold Independent Prescribing qualification and maintain it
- Demonstrate confidence in autonomous decision-making and complex case management
- Utilise advanced skills in diagnostics, prescribing, and patient management
Additional Duties- Ensure safety of patients, staff, and visitors; report incidents and risks
- Safeguard vulnerable patients and follow protocols
- Comply with practice policies including confidentiality, infection control, and equality
- Support business continuity and disaster recovery planning
Person SpecificationQualificationsEssential- Registered Nurse with the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC).
- Masters degree (required for ACP qualification post-December 2020, aligned with RCN Credentialing for Advanced Level Nursing Practice).
- Postgraduate diploma or degree (for ACP qualification up to December 2020).
- Qualified Independent Nurse Prescriber, registered with the NMC.
- Compliance with NMC revalidation requirements as outlined in the NMC Revalidation booklet.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.
- Familiarity with GP practice systems and prescribing data monitoring platforms.
- Ability to produce clear, comprehensive clinical documentation.
- Competence in developing, implementing, and reviewing care plans.
- Strong awareness of data protection regulations (GDPR).
- Commitment to maintaining confidentiality, particularly within a GP practice environment.
- Clear understanding of NHS principles, values, and frameworks.
- Ability to analyse and interpret complex or incomplete information, anticipate issues, and recommend appropriate solutions.
