Job AdvertWe are seeking an experienced Registered Nurse or Operating Department Practitioner to join our senior team within Obstetric Theatres and Recovery.
This is a substantial Team Leader role within a large and diverse team during a significant period of service change and preparation for the Baird Family Hospital. It is
not an introductory or developmental leadership post. Applicants must already have demonstrable experience of leading or managing a clinical team at experienced Band 5 or Band 6 level.
You must be currently competent in post-anaesthetic Recovery and have theatre experience in either anaesthetic practice or scrub and circulating practice. For the right candidate, supported training may be available to develop competence in an additional perioperative discipline. You must be willing to become multi-skilled to meet the future needs of the service.
You will be expected to provide visible clinical leadership, coordinate staffing and activity, implement policy, maintain professional standards and support staff through change. You must also have clear evidence of managing a team and contributing meaningfully to change within a clinical service.
This opportunity would suit an experienced perioperative practitioner who is looking for a new leadership challenge and wants to play an active role in shaping the future theatre and Recovery service.
Applicants must provide specific examples within their application demonstrating:- Leadership at experienced Band 5 or Band 6 level
- Experience of managing or coordinating a clinical team
- Current post-anaesthetic Recovery competence
- Theatre experience in anaesthetics or scrub and circulating practice
- Implementation of policy within clinical practice
- Change management and service improvement experience
Applications that do not clearly evidence the essential criteria will not be shortlisted.
