An exciting opportunity has arisen for a motivated Band 6 Dietitian to join the Neurosciences Dietetic Team within the Institute of Neurological Sciences (INS) at the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital.

The INS is a regional tertiary referral centre providing specialist neurosciences services for patients across the West of Scotland. The post holder will provide nutritional care across a diverse inpatient caseload, including neurology, neurorehabilitation, and neurosurgery ICU and HDU. The role includes the assessment and management of complex nutritional support needs, including oral, enteral and parenteral nutrition.

You will work as part of a shared caseload model, collaborating with Band 7 and Band 5 Dietitians, Band 3 Dietetic Support Workers, and the wider multidisciplinary team to deliver high-quality, person-centred nutrition care. This is an excellent opportunity to develop specialist expertise within one of the UK's leading neurosciences centres, which holds Tessa Jowell Centre of Excellence designation. Opportunities for service development, quality improvement and clinical audit are actively encouraged.

A BSc in Dietetics and HCPC registration are essential, in addition to acute clinical experience, excellent communication skills, and an interest in neurosciences nutrition.

Informal enquiries are warmly welcomed. We encourage prospective applicants to contact us for an informal discussion to learn more about the role before applying.

NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde (NHSGGC) may be able to provide visa sponsorship for certain roles, subject to the post meeting the relevant eligibility criteria. Sponsorship is not guaranteed and will be determined on a case-by-case basis following interview and during the pre-employment verification process. Applicants must state their current right to work in their application.

This vacancy may close early due to a high volume of applications. We recommend applying as soon as possible to avoid disappointment.

AI tools like ChatGPT or Copilot can be great for planning and preparing your application, but your answers must be your own.

Show us the real you: Your application should reflect your skills, experience, and motivations authentically.

Use AI wisely: It's fine to use AI for ideas or to check spelling and grammar, but don't let it write your answers.

Why this matters: Applications that rely on AI-generated content may be withdrawn. By applying, you confirm your responses are based on your own knowledge and achievements.

Tip: Think of AI as a helper, not a substitute. We want to understand you, not an AI tool.
