This role sits within the newly established HealthTech Strategy, Innovation and Solutions (SIS) team. The team works closely with the HealthTech guidance delivery team but is not directly involved in the day-to-day production of guidance.
Main duties of the jobA key aspect of the role is problem-solving. This includes addressing new challenges facing the guidance programme and identifying how NICE's HealthTech guidance can remain useful, usable and relevant within the wider healthcare system. Main duties will be related to:
- Working collaboratively with members of the HealthTech Directorate and other teams in NICE to develop pragmatic solutions that can be implemented.
- Working closely with NICE's external partners to build an understanding of how regulation applies and can encourage medtech, diagnostics and data driven innovation.
- Contribute to the team's topic strategy and other relevant strategies in collaboration with other teams, as needed.
- Representing and actively advocating for the HealthTech Directorate at meetings, such as working groups.
- Ability to negotiate and persuade in groups with potentially very different experience and objectives.
- Regular communication and maintaining effective working relationship with NICE staff (both within and outside of the HealthTech Directorate) and external organisations.
- Participating in discussions with the life sciences industry, key healthcare system partners, key opinion leaders, academics and international HTA and regulatory agencies; requiring intense concentration, attention to detail and scrutiny of highly technical information

QualificationsEssential- Postgraduate degree with demonstrable experience in a relevant discipline (e.g. health economics, systematic review, pharmacy, epidemiology, statistics, clinical research), or equivalent level of knowledge acquired through experience and further training/development
