Reports to – Theatre Manager / Hospital Director and CQC Registered Manager

Hours – Bank shifts as required, usually on a Wednesday or Thursday, up to a maximum of 6 hours per shift.
Purpose of the post – To supplement and support the current Dressings Clinic Nurse and provide safe, effective, high-quality post-operative wound care and dressings clinic support
Professional registration – Current Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) registration as a Registered General Nurse
Rate of pay – £25 per hour, inclusive of statutory holiday pay arrangements where applicable
Role SummaryThe Bank Dressings Clinic Nurse will provide high-quality nursing care within the hospital’s dressings clinic, supporting patients with post-operative wound reviews, dressing changes, wound care advice and timely escalation where clinical concerns are identified.
Essential Requirements- Current registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Council as a Registered General Nurse.
- Relevant post-registration clinical experience.
- Competence in wound assessment, dressing changes and escalation of post-operative concerns.
- Understanding of professional accountability under the NMC Code.
- Commitment to safe, effective, caring, responsive and well-led patient care.
- Ability to work independently within competence and seek advice appropriately.
- Strong communication, record-keeping and patient support skills.
- Commitment to confidentiality, dignity, equality, diversity and inclusion.
- Completion of all required pre-employment checks and mandatory training before commencing work.
