Job summaryWe are seeking an enthusiastic nurse with a passion for neonatal care to join our team at Warrington.
Warrington Neonatal Unit is a level 2 facility catering to babies from 27 weeks' gestation. Our unit consists of 2 intensive care cots, 4 high dependency cots and 8 special care cots.
Main duties of the jobTo assist the Senior nursing team in creating and maintaining an environment in which members of the ward/department team can contribute to the maximum of their ability in providing a high standard of care, staff welfare and staff training.
The post holder is responsible for the assessment of care needs and the development of programmes of care, and/or the implementation and evaluation of these programmes. He/she is expected to carry out all relevant forms of care without direct supervision and may be required to demonstrate procedures to and supervise qualified and/or unqualified staff.

Person SpecificationExperienceEssential- Experience in Neonatal care (as qualified or student)
Desirable- 6 months Neonatal experience
- Foundations in Neonates
QualificationsEssential- RN(C)/RN(A)
- Willing to undertake administration of intravenous drugs within 6 months
- Commitment to continuing education
Desirable- Post-registration qualification in neonatal specialist area
SkillsEssential- Able to communicate in a variety of settings with families of varying levels of understanding
- Ability to communicate sensitive and unpleasant information
- Basic IT skills
- Awareness of professional accountabiltiy
Desirable- Participated in service development and implementation of change
