Job summary
This is an exciting opportunity to join our already well-established team within the Urgent and Emergency Care Clinical Business Unit at Warrington Emergency Department.

The Emergency Department has a co-located Paediatrics Unit, Minor Injuries, Emergency Ambulatory Care Unit, Same Day Emergency Care (SDEC). We also have an Urgent Care Centre at Halton.

Main duties of the job
  • Assess, plan, implement and evaluate programmes of evidence-based nursing care.
  • Provide management and organisation of a clinical area.
  • Participate in the education, development, and line management of other staff members.
  • Work collaboratively and co-operatively with others to meet the needs of patients and their families.
  • Participate in improvement of services and the quality-of-care provisionClinical:
  • Evaluate care delivery according to changing health care needs and varying levels of complexity.
  • Collect, collate, evaluate, and report information, maintaining accurate patient records.
  • Involve patients and carers / relatives in the planning and delivery of care.
  • Work collaboratively with other professionals and agencies to ensure patient needs are met, especially in relation to ongoing care needs and discharge arrangements.
  • Establish and maintain effective communication with patients and carers / relatives.
  • Recognise and respond appropriately to urgent and emergency situations.
  • Have significant experience of managing patients who require NIV, CPAP and Nasal Hi Flow O2 therapy.
  • Have significant experience of working in a multidisciplinary team in the management of major trauma patients.

  • Broad range of clinical experience and experience in paediatric A/E Nursing
  • post registration experience in ED

Qualifications
Essential
  • RN (Adult) Degree or equivalent experience
  • RGN or post basic qualification related to in A/E Mentorship

  • PILS
  • APLS
  • NTACC

  • Participated in service development and implementation of change
  • Ability to communicate in a variety of settings with patients of varying levels of understanding
  • Basic knowledge of financial management within the clinical setting
  • Ability to communicate unpleasant and sensitive information
  • Able to present written information in a logical manner
  • Basic IT skills in work processing and spreadsheets
