Job summaryThe successful candidates should have 2 years post registration experience of working within Cardiology on either a Cardiology ward or Coronary Care Unit and be committed to providing high quality evidence based safe care, have excellent communication skills and be able to evidence examples of change management and development within your current role. Completed telemetry competency is essential for this role, the candidate should ideally have previous band 6 experience.
It is also essential that you hold an up to date ALS certificate and can demonstrate evidence of continued professional development within the field of Cardiology 6 months post registration experience of working in an acute setting with experience of working within a Cardiology Ward or CCU desirable, including a teaching and assessing qualification.

Main duties of the jobRole SummaryTo assist the Ward/Department Manager in creating and maintaining an environment in which members of the ward/department team can contribute to the maximum of their ability in providing high quality, safe healthcare to the patients, staff welfare and staff training.
Designated to take charge of the ward/department regularly in the absence of the ward/department manager.
The post holder is responsible for the assessment of care needs, and for the development and implementation of programmes of care without supervision.
You will be responsible for planning, delivering and supervising safe and compassionate care and evaluating the effectiveness of care. You will be required to demonstrate leadership qualities and be open, transparent, and trustworthy.
The post holder will support staff in the development of clinical procedures, protocols and practice to ensure the effective delivery of service to patients within the Trust.
