We are looking for a competent and professional Anatomical Pathology Technician working in the Mortuary at band 5 level based at the Cumberland Infirmary, Carlisle. This is a permanent position working up to 37.5 hours per week. Cover for the body store at West Cumberland Hospital may be required.
Main duties of the jobThe main duties of the job will be the day to day provision of post mortem services for North Cumbria.
The post holder will work alongside another Anatomical Pathology Technicians and Mortuary Assistants based in both the Mortuary at the Cumberland Infirmary and Body Storage Facility at the West Cumberland Hospital Whitehaven to provide an effective and efficient administrative service.
The successful applicant will be expected to participate in the out of hours service Mon to Fri 16:00-20:00 and a Saturday/Sunday morning 09:00-13:00)

Person SpecificationQualificationsEssential- BSc in biological or forensic science and Royal Society for Public Health Diploma in anatomical pathology technology (level 3) or has equivalent experience

- Specialist procedures e.g. removal of spinal cord, inner ears, eyes, maxilla and mandible.
