Applications are welcome from candidates who have completed the Foundation Programme (or equivalent) and are wishing to gain experience in Clinical Haematology. This is a fixed term role which will give you a fantastic opportunity to develop your skills and time to plan your future career. The post holder will be based within our Clinical Haematology department supporting with both inpatient and outpatient work.
Educational SupervisionAn educational supervisor will be assigned to you to provide support. Appraisal is carried out at regular intervals, and forwarded to the specialty lead.
Main duties of the jobDuties and opportunities include:
- Acute inpatient care of patients with Haematological pathology
- Supporting Consultant led ward rounds, Consultant board rounds with associated learning opportunities
- Liaison with allied clinical specialties and support junior colleagues
- Opportunity to attend and contribute towards junior doctor teaching, gain feedback and develop your teaching and presentation skills
- Opportunity to take part in audit and quality improvement work with a view to regional and national presentation, with Consultant level support and guidance where necessary

In the course of his/her work the job holder liaises with nursing, professional and technical, social work and administrative staff.
You will need to flexible and up for a challenge, working within a fast paced environment, working with likeminded people and having the benefit of being supported by a fabulous team. You may be redeployed to alternative medical wards at times of increased staffing pressure; this should be seen as an opportunity to gain different skills and valuable experience.
