Job summary
The Clinical Lead is responsible to lead the clinical team within the service. The post holder will work with the headteacher in the development and delivery of an integrated educational and CAMHS provision for children and young people between Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 3.The post holder supports the headteacher in the task of managing change and service improvements, whilst maintaining quality and safety and identifying, mitigating and managing risks.

The post holder will ensure that care plans and clinical interventions are effective and safe and will disseminate practice developments and examples of good practice throughout the service.

They will work in partnership with the headteacher to provide the most appropriate combined integrated health and education care plans for individuals and groups of children and young people.

They will; promote a culture of effective communication and integrated working both internally and with external agencies, contribute to the development of the workplace as a learning environment, maintain a safe and contained environment with this challenging and complex client group, actively promote equality and diversity, work in partnership with others to develop, implement and evaluate service strategy, development and improvement and initiate and maintain quality and governance systems and processes.

Main duties of the job
The post holder will be responsible for the following areas of management in the Service:

• Operational and clinical line manager for clinical team in the service, dealing with a range of workforce issues including job planning for staff, appraisals, recruitment, sickness absence, performance and other human resources processes and any escalated staff issues in partnership with the ops manager.
• Monitor and drive the activity and performance of individual practitioners against job plans that have been previously agreed between the individual and the CSM.
• Undertake regular, structured 1:1's including reviewing individuals' adherence to job plans as appropriate
• Responsible for the development and implementation of the team strategy and work plan alongside the headteacher
• Promote mental health and wellbeing within the team.
• Highly complex analysis of reporting data on team performance to ensure service development in partnership with operations and the school part of the team
• Chair team meetings including referral meetings as needed
• Demonstrate leadership values including the delivery of high quality assessments, treatments and interventions and the development of staff.
• Authorised signatory for timesheets and expenses up to £1,000.

This may mean that you are required to work at any location that fall under Barnet, Camden, Enfield, Haringey or Islington. • Work in partnership with the Service Manager to design and implement change management and Service redesign.
• To actively contribute to strategic and business planning across a portfolio of services, including long-term planning for new areas of service activity.
• Responsible for performance management of the Service in consultation with Service Manager.
• Be prepared to communicate complex service related information to senior managers and stakeholders
• Deliver high quality and effective services.
• Respond to economic and environmental changes.
• Interpret policies for the Service and ensure that staff in the team are familiar with these.

Person Specification
Qualifications/ Registrations
Essential

• Core clinical training qualification eg nurse, psychologist, SW

Desirable

• Post Graduate Clinical or Management Qualification e.g. CYP, IAPT, Masters in Systemic Practice etc. or equivalent experience

Qualifications/ Registrations

• Registration with HCPC or relevant body as a Clinical Psychologist, Educational Psychologist, Counselling Psychologist, Social Worker, Nurse, Psychotherapist, or Systemic Therapist

Skills/ Abilities
Essential

• Strong leadership and interpersonal skills; able to successfully foster and manage inter-relationships between own area and other teams and services;

Desirable

• Have a clear understanding of schools and what constitutes effective teaching and learning for children with SEMH and the ability to lead staff in these areas.

Experience/ Knowledge
Essential

• Significant experience of working with client population in community and inpatient education and CAMHS settings. A strong track record of managing complexity and risk whilst maintaining high standards of service delivery.

Desirable

• Some experience of Project Management

Experience/ Knowledge

• A comprehensive understanding of the changing schools/education, NHS and Social Care environment and the challenges they face

Desirable

• Experience of leadership in a multi-disciplinary context
