Job summary
The successful post holder will be joining Camden's Mental Health Support Team (MHST). Camden was a national trailblazer site for the mental health support team (MHST) in school initiative. We are a well-established multi-disciplinary team that provides high quality support to children, young people, and families, presenting with mild to moderate concerns. Support to schools includes advice and sign posting, consultation, delivering brief evidence-based interventions through universal (e.g. whole school approach), targeted (e.g. class or small group intervention) and individual one to one therapeutic support.

Main duties of the job
The role of Specialist Clinician and Supervisor includes consultation, assessment, therapy/intervention, supervision as well as service development, evaluation and training. This will be a community-based post, with most of the work taking place in school settings or other community settings. The post holder must be able to work collaboratively with other members of the team, staff from other teams as well as with our allied partners across education, health, social care and the charity sector.

In order to meet the needs of the Trust you may be required from time to time to work at different locations to your normal place of work. This may mean that you are required to work at any location that fall under Barnet, Camden, Enfield, Haringey or Islington. The Trust reserves the right to require staff to work at such other places or locations as it considers reasonable and necessary on a temporary or permanent basis.

Qualifications
Essential

• Appropriate qualification as either a Clinical/Counselling/Educational Psychologist (Doctoral level training and relevant UK Professional Registration (HCPC/BPS).
• Or as a Systemic Family Psychotherapist (MA/MSc qualification with full registration as a Systemic Psychotherapist with UKCP)
• Or Cognitive Behavioural Therapist with relevant UK Professional registration (e.g. BABCP)
• Or Appropriate qualification to be an existing CAMHS clinician at band 7 for example, clinical nurse specialist or mental health social worker. This must equate to a Master's degree in the relevant clinical area.
• Plus accreditation as a Cognitive Behavioural Psychotherapist with the BABCP.

Desirable

• Post-graduate qualification in a relevant field of mental health or social welfare and demonstrate significant practice.
• CYP IAPT Trainings, e.g. CBT, Systemic Family Therapy, Interpersonal Therapy [IPT], Under 5's, Parent Training.
• Other post-graduate qualifications in: CBT, Systemic Foundation and Diploma, Mindfulness.
• Additional training and qualification in providing supervision
• Additional Training in Group intervention such as Incredible Years, Solihull Approach, etc.

Experience
Essential

• A clear track record of managing complexity and risk whilst maintaining high standards of service delivery
• Experience of working with evidence based approaches to low mood, anxiety and behavior problems.
• Formulation and treatment of children and young people with mental health difficulties.
• Some experience of providing supervision
• Experience of working with and within schools (primary and secondary).

Desirable

• Some experience of undertaking delegated leadership tasks Some experience of clinical management of staff
• Some experience of involvement in project work e.g. quality improvement
• Some experience of working at all levels of the system with internal and external stakeholders

Skills
Essential

• High level of skill and knowledge in safeguarding and risk management
• Skills in the assessment of mental health for children young people and their parents
• Competent IT skills, including the use of Microsoft Office and clinical record-keeping systems.
• Ability to manage own clinical case load
• Ability to form excellent working relationships with colleagues and work flexibly with others in multidisciplinary and multi-agency settings.

• Personal duty of care in relation to equipment or resources

Knowledge
Essential

• Knowledge and understanding of child and adolescent mental health difficulties, their assessment, and current evidence based intervention strategies.
• Skills for assessing and communicating complex client conditions and applying appropriate clinical treatments
• A comprehensive understanding of the changing NHS and Social Care environment and the challenges they face

• Willingness to contribute to strategic and business planning
