Job summaryThis post has the prime responsibility to book diagnostic and therapeutic procedures within the Cardiology Day unit (CDU).
The post holder will have knowledge of patient pathways for each procedure and books a range of complex tests and procedures.
This post holder will identify when additional capacity is require to meet waiting list targets and liaise with the wider MDT to ensure correct staffing and availably.
The role requires collaboration and coordination and booking of cross site UHT patients.
Main duties of the jobResponsibility to book diagnostic and therapeutic procedures within the Cardiology Day unit (CDU).
The CDU department processes diagnostic and therapeutic procedures involving the multidisciplinary team, both face to face and via the telephone. Due to the complexity and variety of appointments that are operating every day, the booking process is a complicated procedure utilising a confidential patient database. The post holder will be required to have an extensive knowledge of cardiology appointments across the UHT.

Job responsibilitiesDetailed job description and main responsibilities
The main remit of this post is to process booking and administrative services and support the management of the Cardiology day unit waiting list. This is a key post in the unit, to maintain and develop administrative systems to support the achievement of national waiting time targets and maintain a safe and efficient patient booking process and flow.
The post holder will also provide reception and clerical support within the cardiology unit. they will work collaboratively with admin/secretarial teams across the whole UHT.
Manage systems to ensure an equitable pooled list is in place by working closely with clinical staff across the MDT.

- Excellent attention to detail and ability to check work
Desirable- Previous use of ICE/TRAK/CRIS
- Experience of working in Cardiology
- Experience in an acute hospital environment
QualificationsEssential- NVQ Level 3 Customer Service or equivalent
QualificationsEssential- Good basic education to include GCSE Maths and English, level C or above.
