We have an opportunity for an enthusiastic and skilled physiotherapist with an interest and passion for paediatric respiratory management to join our acute paediatric physiotherapy service. The paediatric physiotherapy team provide clinical care across all acute inpatient and outpatient areas within the trust.

This post offers the opportunity to work within a skilled MDT for our paediatric cystic fibrosis service offering advanced paediatric respiratory care. North West Anglia NHS Foundation Trust is a shared care centre for Cystic fibrosis with Addenbrooke's Hospital providing our in-patient, out-patient and home care to children and adolescents.

The post holder will provide specialist physiotherapy assessment, treatment and advice across paediatric respiratory care. Working as part of a multidisciplinary team, you will contribute to clinical decision-making, advisory reports and collaborative care planning for children with complex needs. Strong communication and interpersonal skills are essential, as the role involves close liaison with local therapy teams, families, and carers. The post offers the opportunity to lead and develop services across our hospital sites alongside leading on paediatric respiratory education for junior therapists.

The post holder will be required to participate in our on-call rota (adults and children). The successful candidate will be required to be able to work flexibly to meet the needs of a growing service.

Main duties of the job
The Highly Specialist physiotherapist working with the Paediatric Therapy Team develops the quality of the clinical service and staff that deliver it. The post holder will work using an enhanced level of practice applying specialist knowledge and skills in the field of paediatric cystic fibrosis. Working within the cystic fibrosis multi-disciplinary team they will assess and treat a specialist complex caseload of patients and make clinical decisions for treatment plans.

They will act as the profession specific lead to support the training and development of the clinical staff within the Paediatric therapy team and wider multidisciplinary team. To lead on service development, audit and assist in research initiatives to deliver on best practice evidence based care in line with trust and national priorities. They will be responsible for the delivery of key quality performance indicators linked to providing high quality care.

Qualifications
Essential

• Degree/Diploma in Physiotherapy
• HCPC Registered
• Evidence of post graduate training/qualification relevant to clinical area -paediatrics, respiratory and cystic fibrosis

• CSP member
• Member of CSP Specialist section - APCP

Experience

• Ability to demonstrate working with regional/national networks
• Significant clinical experience within paediatric respiratory and or cystic fibrosis

• NHS experience working at senior level
• Significant clinical experience within paediatric respiratory and or cystic fibrosis

• Experience of supervising and mentoring junior members of staff and pre-registration students
• Experience of developing staff and sharing knowledge
