Job summary
A8 ward is a 34 bedded ward specialising in acute medicine and Renal conditions. We provide acute Haemodialysis, peritoneal dialysis and renal biopsies on the ward.

The ward is fast paced and can be challenging but also exciting to work on, with so many opportunities to develop your clinical skills caring for acutely unwell patients. Our team is hard working, positive and friendly. We work together as a team and we pride ourselves on going that "extra mile" for our patients.

In this role, you'll have the chance to grow within a structured framework, with ongoing opportunities for clinical learning and leadership development including opportunities to learn peritoneal dialysis and haemodialysis training following completion of preceptorship programme.

This role includes a mixture of night shifts, day shifts, and weekends to meet the needs of our service.

Education and Qualifications
Essential

• RN Adult or equivalent
• Live NMC registration
• Evidence of professional development
• Willingness to complete teaching/mentorship course

Desirable

• Recognised teaching/mentorship course

Key Skills/Abilities
Desirable

• Competent at life support to BLS standard
• IT and standard keyboard skills

Knowledge
Essential

• Understanding of health & safety at work
• Knowledge of vulnerable adult and child protection issues
• Understanding of infection prevention and control and evidence of application.
