Job summary
The post holder will report to the Head of Clinical Audit & Effectiveness and will work closely with clinicians, managers and multidisciplinary teams to facilitate local and national audit projects, design data collection tools, collect and analyse data, maintain audit records, produce reports and support services to implement improvements arising from audit findings

Main duties of the job

• Support the delivery of the Trust Clinical Audit Programme, including local, national and mandatory audit activity.
• Coordinate and facilitate audit projects throughout the full audit cycle, from registration and design through to reporting, action planning and re-audit.
• Administer and maintain the Trust's Audit Management and Tracking System (AMaT), ensuring audit records, timelines, actions and outcomes are accurate and up to date.
• Support clinical teams in the creation, maintenance and monitoring of online audit projects to track audit progress, compliance and improvement activity.
• Collect, validate, analyse and input audit data accurately and within agreed timescales.
• Produce audit reports, presentations, dashboards and summaries to support decision-making and governance processes.
• Monitor audit progress through AMaT and provide regular updates and exception reporting to relevant governance and assurance forums.
• Provide training on a one-to-one basis or to teams on clinical audit methodology and the use of AMaT.

Job responsibilities

• Support clinical teams in measuring compliance against national guidance, local standards and best practice requirements.
• Monitor audit progress through AMaT and provide regular updates and exception reporting to relevant governance and assurance forums.
• Maintain accurate records of audit activity, organisational compliance, action plans and audit outcomes.
• Support services to ensure recommendations, lessons learned and improvement actions arising from audit activity are documented, monitored and evidenced through completion.
• Support services in developing and implementing action plans and coordinating follow-up and re-audit activity to demonstrate improvement.
• Provide training on a one to one basis or to teams on clinical audit methodology the use of AMaT.
• Support participation in national, regional and mandatory audit programmes, ensuring reporting requirements are met.
• Prepare agendas, reports, minutes and supporting documentation for the Clinical Audit & Effectiveness Committee
• Contribute to assurance reporting for Trust committees, sub-committees and governance groups.
• Promote evidence-based practice, clinical effectiveness and continuous quality improvement across the organisation.
• Liaise with internal and external stakeholders regarding audit activity, reporting requirements, governance processes and system developments

Person Specification
Knowledge and Experience
Essential

• Knowledge of clinical audit methodology and quality assurance processes.
• Experience supporting clinical audit, and evidence of attendance of clinical audit training
• Experience of managing multiple workstreams and competing priorities.
• Training health professionals & others on audit methodology techniques

Desirable

• Strong understanding of data processing with the ability to identify trends and themes in the data
• Experience using audit management systems or databases.
