Working across North Northamptonshire, the post holder will manage a caseload, assess need, prioritise referrals and coordinate support for children, young people and families.

As part of a multidisciplinary team, the SCPHN will provide clinical leadership, supervision and guidance, ensuring safe and effective service delivery. The role involves working in schools, clinics, community settings and homes, delivering public health interventions and promoting positive health and wellbeing outcomes.

The post holder will build strong relationships with schools and partner agencies, identify emerging health needs and contribute to service development and health improvement initiatives. A key aspect of the role is ensuring children, young people and families are actively involved in decisions about their care.

The SCPHN will also play an important safeguarding role, supporting vulnerable children and families and working closely with multi-agency partners to ensure appropriate interventions are in place.

You will demonstrate strong leadership, safeguarding, public health and caseload management skills. The role requires effective partnership working, a commitment to person-centred care and a passion for improving outcomes for children and young people.

Main duties of the job

  • Transition to Adulthood
  • Emotional Health & Wellbeing

Interventions may include, but are not limited to:
  • Sleep
  • Continence
  • Eating Disorders
  • Self Harm
  • Sexual Health and Healthy Relationships

As part of the Thriving in Life Service and in partnership with your skill-mix team, you will develop close working relationships with secondary schools and use the themes emerging from these contacts to inform and influence the school in relation to emerging needs, risks and opportunities for health improvement.

As a key safeguarding professional you will form effective partnerships and relationships with colleagues across the safeguarding MDT.

As a leader in your team you will support the training and development of new staff and students and support the continual development of the Thriving in Life service so that we can achieve our aims of helping children, young people and families to thrive. You will be required to offer both clinical and safeguarding supervision to your team.
