Job summary
The Northern Care Alliance NHS Foundation Trust has a vacancy for Consultant Radiologists with a particular interest in non-vascular interventional radiology, head and neck (H&N) or GI/GU subspecialty.

The post holders are required to have full registration with the General Medical Council & a valid license to practice and be on the Specialist Register for Radiology or be within 6 months of CCT or equivalent at the time of interview. We would encourage any interested candidates to contact the Directorate Management team for further discussion.

The successful candidates would be expected to participate in sub-specialty MDTs and contribute to the general diagnostic work of the department, including general diagnostic radiology on call (Specialist Trainee led on call service - evenings and weekends with outsourcing overnight). Home workstations are provided to all consultants for protected daytime reporting, flexible working and remote review of on call imaging. Consultants are expected to provide prospective cover for annual and study leaves.

The post holders will be based between Oldham and Salford hospitals.

The post holders will be expected to work closely with other consultants and members of the wider multi-disciplinary team to support and develop services.

Main duties of the job

Qualifications
Essential
  • Qualified Radiologist
  • MBBS/MBChB and FRCR or equivalent

Professional Registration
Essential
  • Registration on the GMC Specialist Register-CCT or within 6 months of obtaining CCT
  • Completion of a radiology training scheme, with sound knowledge of general radiology and higher training in NVIR, H&N or GI/GU radiology.

Desirable
  • NVIR, H&N or GI/GU interest
  • Evidence of Accredited Clinical & Educational Supervision of Medical Learners

Knowledge, Training & Experience
Essential
  • The successful candidate will be a radiologist with particular interest in NVIR, H&N or GI/GU

Skills & Abilities
Essential
  • Working in a team/MDT
  • Good communication skills
  • Independent in reporting different modalities of NVIR, H&N or GI/GU studies in acute and outpatient settings

Desirable
  • Image guided steroid injections/soft tissue biopsy/aspiration
  • CT guided bone biopsies
