You will work as part of a multidisciplinary team to provide safe, effective and patient-centred care. Depending on experience, competencies and service requirements, you may work across anaesthetics, scrub and recovery.
The service operates across a 7-day week, with a variety of shift patterns supporting elective and emergency activity, including 24-hour emergency theatre cover. Shift patterns may vary according to service and speciality requirements, with opportunities for night working where required.
As a practitioner, you will demonstrate clinical leadership, act as a positive role model and support junior staff, newly appointed colleagues and students. You will contribute to maintaining high standards of clinical practice, education, service improvement and clinical governance.
The organisation is committed to lifelong learning and professional development, supporting staff to maintain and enhance their clinical competencies through training, education and development opportunities.

Provide compassionate, patient-centred care in line with organisational policies, professional standards and agreed competencies. You will assess, plan, deliver and evaluate care, recognising and responding appropriately to changes in a patients condition and escalating concerns when required.
Effective communication and teamwork are essential. Work closely with patients, surgeons, anaesthetists, theatre colleagues and the wider multidisciplinary team to ensure safe and efficient care throughout the perioperative pathway. Accurate documentation and timely communication are also key responsibilities.
As an experienced practitioner, you will demonstrate leadership and act as a positive role model, supporting junior staff, newly appointed colleagues and students with their learning and development. Contribute to a positive and supportive team environment and promote high standards of clinical practice.
Contribute to audit, clinical governance, quality improvement and service development while maintaining your own professional development and competencies. Applicants must be registered as an ODP or Registered Nurse with relevant qualifications and experience.
