We have opportunities for highly motivated and experienced nurses, to join our expanding Neurosciences Centre.

You will be joining a team that continually go above and beyond to ensure the Trust delivers outstanding patient care.

The Greater Manchester Neurosciences Centre as part of the Northern Care Alliance NHS Foundation Trust serves the population of Greater Manchester. The centre has over 150 in-patient beds with sub-specialities including complex ENT, Spinal Surgery, short stay and complex, Major Trauma, Acute Neurology, Stroke Services (Hyper-acute and Rehabilitation), Programme Investigation Unit, and Hyper- Acute Neuro Rehabilitation.

Main duties of the job
We are looking for Qualified Nurses, with post registration experience, with a passion for delivering high standards of care to work within this area.

You will be able to:
  • Demonstrate excellent interpersonal skills
  • Aspire to deliver excellent standards of care
  • Be able to work collaboratively with all members of the MDT
  • Demonstrate a high level of compassion for patients and their relatives

You will embrace the challenge of working in a highly diverse environment, committed to becoming the safest organisation in the NHS.

You will be registered with the NMC and have experience of working in a hospital environment or be a newly qualified nurse

Ward B7 is a 25 bedded neurosurgical unit, caring for patients with a range of neurosurgical conditions . Nursing staff caring for patients in this area will have opportunity to gain and develop skills in care of pre and post-operative patients, caring for patients with a wide variety of spinal conditions including long term paralysis, oncology and elective spinal surgery.

Job responsibilities
This vacancy is open to experienced nurses only who have a current NMC PIN to practice as a Registered Nurse in the UK.

Please note an NMC PRN Pin is not a full NMC Pin and would not fulfil the essential criteria for this role.

Person Specification
Qualifications
  • Registered Nurse with current NMC registration (Part 1 Adult / General Level 1 or 2)

Experience
  • IT Skills - communicates succinctly, clearly and accurately in writing
  • Demonstrates evidence based clinical knowledge
  • Be an effective team member who is able to relate to colleagues at all levels of the Trust with tact and diplomacy
  • Ability to coordinate your workload and supervise members of the team, ensuring high quality, safe and effective patient care
  • Post Registration Experience

Desirable
  • Experience of the use of clinical systems
  • Demonstrate initiative to proactively problem solve with a solution focus
  • Ability to use reflective practice, to continuously improve the standard of patient care

Qualifications
  • Degree / diploma in nursing studies (or equivalent nursing qualification and experience)

Desirable
  • Evidence of continuous professional development (CPD)
  • Evidence of involvement in teaching
  • Evidence of mentorship qualification
