Northumbria Primary Care is seeking an experienced and forward-thinking Data & Digital Improvement Manager to lead digital transformation, business intelligence and service improvement programmes across our growing organisation. This is an exciting opportunity to influence how technology, data and innovation are used to improve services, support practices and enhance patient outcomes across primary care.

Main duties of the job
As Data & Digital Improvement Manager, you will provide operational leadership for the development, implementation and continuous improvement of data, digital and technology-enabled transformation programmes across NPC.

Working closely with GP practices, senior leaders, system partners and suppliers, you will lead initiatives that improve data quality, optimise digital systems, support operational decision-making and deliver measurable service improvements. You will play a key role in driving the NPC Data and Digital Strategy whilst ensuring compliance with NHS digital standards, information governance requirements and clinical safety processes.

About us
Northumbria Primary Care Ltd (NPC) is a pioneering partnership with local GPs and now manages several GP practices with around 120,000 registered patients in Northumberland and North Tyneside.

Whilst appointees will have a base practice within NPC, they may be asked to work at other practices across our group. We do however limit this as much as possible as we appreciate continuity is vital to effective primary care.

Job responsibilities
We are looking for an experienced improvement, digital or informatics professional with a track record of delivering transformation and change within healthcare settings.

Key responsibilities include:

• Leading delivery of NPC's Data and Digital Strategy.
• Managing digital transformation and service improvement programmes.
• Developing business intelligence, performance reporting and dashboard solutions.
• Supporting implementation and optimisation of digital systems, including SystmOne.
• Leading data quality improvement and digital maturity programmes.
• Managing supplier relationships, procurement activities and digital solution performance.
• Supporting compliance with NHS digital and clinical safety requirements, including DCB0129 and DCB0160 standards.
• Using data and analytics to identify opportunities for innovation, efficiency and service redesign.
• Providing expert advice to senior leaders on digital development, performance intelligence and transformation opportunities.

Qualifications / Professional Registration
Essential

• Degree level qualification or equivalent experience
• Evidence of continuing professional development
• Qualification or significant training in business intelligence, digital transformation or informatics
• Significant experience delivering improvement, transformation, digital or performance programmes within the NHS

Desirable

• Master's degree or postgraduate qualification
• PRINCE2, MSP, Agile or equivalent programme management qualification
• Lean, Six Sigma or Quality Improvement qualification
• NHS Digital Academy, informatics or data analytics qualification
• Qualification or significant training in project management, service improvement, healthcare management

Experience and knowledge
Essential

• Significant experience delivering improvement, transformation, digital or performance programmes within the NHS
• Experience within Primary Care, Community Services, NHS Provider or ICB environments
• Experience implementing organisational change and service redesign
• Experience of supplier engagement and digital solution implementation
• Experience using data and analytics to support service improvement
• Experience managing complex projects and programmes
• Experience producing reports and presentations for senior leadership and Boards
• Experience delivering measurable benefits and performance improvements

Desirable

• Experience implementing digital clinical systems
• Experience of business intelligence platforms (Power BI, Tableau, SQL)
• Experience supporting digital maturity assessments
• Experience leading organisational cultural and digital change
• Experience of committee management
• Experience of coaching and mentoring others
• Experience leading organisational cultural change

Other requirements
Essential

• It is an essential requirement of the role that the post holder has a valid driving licence and is either a car owner and able to use the car for work purposes, or has a Trust personal lease vehicle which may be used for the role.
