Job summaryThey will support the development and delivery of an enhanced wellbeing service, with a specific focus on engaging colleagues (within their aligned care group) in structured physical activity, health interventions, health education and mental health support (including trauma support) to staff healthy, safe and well at work.
Main duties of the jobTo offer support, advice, guidance and specialist sessions to their aligned care group. To build relationships with staff and increase awareness of staff wellbeing offer.
To be a visible advocate for Wellbeing within assigned Care Group across all departments.
To offer reflective supervision to staff in aligned care group.
Triangulate sickness data within care group and offer targeted support where necessary.
Engage and support partnership working with external providers e.g. blue light card, serve and protect.
Be responsible and accountable for own care group and required interventions.
Develop individually tailored support plans for staff coming through the Wellbeing service.
Conduct physical assessments including cholesterol testing, diabetes testing, blood pressure, height, weight, BMI.
Offer healthy lifestyle advice as part of your health promotion and health improvement activity.
Delivering menopause training to line managers and staff as well as co-ordinating menopause advocates and support sessions.
Delivering specialist workshops/ session on stress, anxiety, looking after yourself at work.
Support, train and grow Wellbeing Champions within your care group.
Support co-ordination of onsite fitness classes
Co-ordinate departmental sessions/ workshops for whole service.

Job responsibilitiesWorking in close relationship with the care group teams, our Health care Advisors spend a lot of time supporting staff members to help them find ways to protect both their physical and mental health while working at NUH.The needs for each care group vary greatly and unique strategies for outreach and engagement will need to be developed to best protect staff while working
Training & QualificationsEssential- Degree level of education in topic focused on health, wellbeing, nutrition, exercise
- Train the trainer qualifications in additional wellbeing related activities
Desirable- Training in delivering mental health awareness sessions
- Physical activity qualification
ExperienceEssential- Experience of evaluation and monitoring (setting up & maintaining spreadsheets/databases)
- Comprehensive and highly competent IT skills
- Taking a lead in co-ordinating specific projects
Desirable- Experience of delivering a health intervention
- Experience of leading a project
Communication and Relationship SkillsEssential- Excellent inter-personal skills
- Ability to work with/engage with a wide range of different groups
- Ability to create and sustain effective partnership working
Desirable- Ability to deal with distressed staff following traumatic incidents
