Job summary
We are looking to recruit to the National Rehabilitation Centre's (NRC) Advanced Clinical Practitioners (Band 8a); this is an exciting opportunity to join the team and be part of this new centre of excellence.

The NRC is a new, purpose-built 70-bed facility which is built on the Stanford Hall Rehabilitation Estate near Loughborough, delivering a centre of excellence to improve rehabilitation services in England. It is co-located with the Defence Medical Rehabilitation Centre and will share some of the world class rehabilitation facilities. Research, innovation, training and education in rehabilitation will be embedded at the NRC and central to clinical practice. We are looking for ambitious and dedicated individuals to join this journey to rehabilitation excellence, transforming outcomes for patients. Main duties of the job
The NRC ACP role is a key part of the senior leadership at the NRC. They will take responsibility of the site co-ordinator role which involves being the escalation point for any clinical and infrastructure escalations during shift.

The ACP will use specialist knowledge and skills to provide healthcare autonomously to patients in their area. The ACP is accountable for independent clinical assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of patients with undiagnosed and undifferentiated conditions. In addition to this the ACP is also responsible for appropriately referring patients to relevant specialities for any necessary investigations as well as facilitating safe patient discharge.

Training and qualifications
Essential

• Current registration with professional body such as NMC or HCPC.
• MSc in advanced clinical practice or an equivalent MSc with the NHSE Centre for Advancing Practice Digital Badge.
• Registered Independent Non-Medical prescriber.
• Evidence of teaching, supervision & assessment skills.
• ALS Provider/Instructor

Desirable

• Mentor/assessor and/or teaching qualification.

Experience
Essential

• Currently working clinically in an autonomous Advanced Practitioner role.
• Has an up-to-date portfolio of supervised practice in advanced clinical practice.
• Evidence of multi-professional teaching.

Desirable

• Management and leadership experience.
• Evidence of involvement in policy and practice change.

Communication and Relationship Skills
Essential

• Ability to work within a multi-professional team, often presenting and receiving complex information.
• Ability to adapt communication styles that facilitate building honest & trusting partnerships with patients, families, & carers.

Desirable

• Evidence of conflict management.

Analytical and Judgement Skills
Essential

• Ability to respond to, prioritise and analyse complex undifferentiated and undiagnosed health conditions and ensure that effective interventions are actioned in a safe and timely manner.
• Participation in research and audit projects.

• Involvement in the investigation of serious clinical incidents or audit projects.
