Job summaryAdvanced Rhinology & Anterior Skull Base Fellowship Nottingham University Hospitals NHS Trust Commencing September 2027 (12 months)Applications are invited for the prestigious Advanced Rhinology and Anterior Skull Base Fellowship at Nottingham University Hospitals, one of the UK's leading tertiary referral centres. This 12-month programme is designed for senior ENT trainees (post-CCT or equivalent) seeking to transition confidently into independent consultant practice.
This fellowship offers high-volume, high-complexity exposure within a mature, well-integrated multidisciplinary team (MDT), including rhinology, neurosurgery, ophthalmology, maxillofacial surgery, allergy/immunology, and respiratory medicine. Fellows will play an active role not only in advanced surgical care but also in MDT-led decision-making, including biologics pathways for chronic rhinosinusitis (CRS)--a rapidly evolving area of modern rhinology practice.
Main duties of the jobWhat the Fellowship Offers- Advanced operative experience across the full rhinology and anterior skull base spectrum:
- Primary and revision endoscopic sinus surgery (ESS)
- Frontal sinus surgery (Draf procedures)
- Endoscopic DCR
- Skull base tumour resection and reconstruction
- Graduated autonomy, preparing you for safe, independent consultant-level practice
- Active participation in rhinology and skull base MDTs, including:
- Biologics MDT for CRS (e.g. dupilumab pathways)
- Vasculitis MDT
- Complex case discussions and surgical planning
- Development of both clinical and non-clinical (consultant-level) skills, including:
- Decision-making in complex cases
- Service development and pathway design
- Leadership, communication, and MDT working
- Dedicated opportunities for:
- Audit and quality improvement
- Teaching and faculty involvement (including national courses)
- Research and publication

Desirable- Project management experience.
TeachingEssential- Enthusiastic and experienced in teaching clinical skills in the workplace or training environment to junior staff and students
