Main duties of the job
Occupational Therapist with excellent communication skills to join Intensive Home Treatment Team in Bassetlaw.

The post-holder will conduct OT specific assessments, formulation and interventions, working collaboratively with patients, their carers/families and partnership organisations to develop creative, goal oriented, time limited occupational therapy plans. This will be alongside team assessments and comprehensive and dynamic risk assessments including care planning around relapse prevention , suicidality and safety planning.

The Intensive Home Treatment Team work work on a shared caseload. The OT clinician will play an integral role in supporting with non pharmacological approaches and interventions and day to day management of the caseload. They will be proficient in using occupation to enhance recovery within the MDT including participating in the role of Duty worker .

As a clinician within in the IHTT - there will be an expectation to lead , guide and support junior staff flexibly across the service on occasion.

The post holder will be required to work across a seven day service including bank holidays and weekends.

Job responsibilities
This post is both rewarding and a vital role towards the assessment and delivery of treatment to our patients in the Bassetlaw area.

To provide a high-quality Occupational Therapy service collaboratively with the patients in their own homes and local environments. Working within the IHTT.

Professional and clinical supervision will be provided by a well established peer supervision network.

A full UK driving licence and vehicle for business use is required for this post; however reasonable adjustments will be made for disabled individuals in line with the Equality Act 2010

Please note applicants will be required to pay for their DBS check. Costs are deducted from salary following appointment. The cost of the DBS application is £26.40 (standard) or £54.40 (enhanced), this cost will be deducted from your salary over the first 2 months of employment.

You are encouraged to enrol for the DBS Update Service. An annual fee of £16 per year applies.

Qualifications
Essential

• BSc or MSc Occupational Therapy
• HCPC registered
• Specialist knowledge/post registration and experience of working in a mental health setting

Desirable

• Demonstrates continued professional development to maintain registration
• Practice Placement Educator APPLE accredited.

Training
Essential

• OT Practice Fieldwork Educator
• oWillingness to undertake clinical practice, education, and training to enhance service delivery

Experience
Essential

• Experience of working with older people with mental health conditions and/or dementia
• Experience of MDT working
