Job summary
The Mansfield Local Mental Health Team (LMHT) are looking to recruit a compassionate and highly skilled Team Leader to join the LMHT management team.

Working in collaboration with the Clinical Lead and members of the wider LMHT workforce, the Team Leader will be responsible for leading, monitoring and evaluating the practice of the team driving towards clinical excellence.

The post holder will provide and oversee managerial supervision and support the multi-disciplinary team to ensure the delivery of high quality and safe patient centred care and provide senior leadership within the service.

This is an exciting time for the LMHTs during our transformation and the right candidate will be involved in shaping this new way of working . The Mid Notts LMHTs prides ourselves on offering high quality evidenced based care to service users and their support network, but also being a warm and supportive team that places an emphasis on a positive working culture.

Main duties of the job
  • The post holder will be expected to ensure effective delivery of evidence based practice by the team, in accordance with Trust systems , policies and procedures. Ensuring all performance management and governance arrangements are in place.
  • You will execute LMHT service transformation in line with the NHS Long Term Plan, supporting the evolution of pathway interventions with the community mental services. You will embed, implement and monitor new ways of working.
  • You will evidence active clinical and managerial leadership skills within the team, providing support, education and supervision to junior staff members and other professionals.

Job responsibilities
A full UK driving license and vehicle for business use is required for this post; however reasonable adjustments will be made for disabled individuals in line with the Equality Act 2010.

Please note applicants will be required to pay for their DBS check. Costs are deducted from salary following appointment. The cost of the DBS application is £26.40 (standard) or £54.40 (enhanced), this cost will be deducted from your salary over the first 2 months of employment.

You are encouraged to enrol for the DBS Update Service. An annual fee of £16 per year applies.

Person Specification
Contractual Requirements
  • A full UK driving licence and vehicle for business use is required for this post; however reasonable adjustments will be made for disabled individuals in line with the Equality Act 2010
  • Ability to work to meet the needs of the service (including unsocial hours and bank holidays)

Qualifications
  • Professional qualification (Mental Health/Learning Disabilities) to diploma level plus further specialist knowledge/post registration experience to Diploma level or equivalent
  • NMC or equivalent professional registration
  • Management/leadership qualification and experience
  • Demonstrates continuing Professional Development within their specialism.

Knowledge
  • Advanced knowledge of medication management and concordance
  • Knowledge of education of others and training requirements
  • Advanced knowledge of CPA, MHA, MCS, DoLS, safeguarding
  • Knowledge of current legislation and clinical risk assessment
  • Knowledge of Nursing 6Cs or equivalent for own profession

Desirable
  • Knowledge of national and local issues impacting care
  • Knowledge of management theories

Skills
  • Demonstrate leadership and management skills

Desirable
  • High level of Emotional intelligence

  • The ability to deal with and resolve conflict
