About Nuffield HealthAt Nuffield Health, we're committed to building a healthier nation - combining our expertise in fitness and wellbeing with our award-winning healthcare services. As the UK's largest healthcare charity, we place the financial stewardship of our organisation at the heart of everything we do, ensuring our resources are directed where they make the most difference to our members, patients and communities.
The RoleThis is an opportunity to join our central Finance team in a senior FP&A role sitting at the core of how Nuffield Health plans, performs and reports. As FP&A Manager, you will own the budgeting and forecasting cycle, lead month-end reporting to the ExCo and Board, and provide strategic financial insight to support sound decision-making across the charity. Working closely with the FP&A Director, you will help shape the medium-term plan and drive improvements across the finance function.
Key Responsibilities- Budgeting and Forecasting: Own the annual budget process and rolling forecasts, producing a consolidated P&L across all platforms - hospitals, fitness and wellbeing, and central functions. Engage directly with senior stakeholders through the budget cycle to challenge assumptions, manage risks and support operational decision-making
- Scenario Modelling: Build and maintain financial models to test scenarios, inform strategic choices and support the charity in planning under uncertainty
- Month-End Reporting: Produce and own the financial packs for ExCo and Board meetings, delivering clear performance commentary and variance analysis against budget and forecast
- Risk and Opportunities: Proactively identify financial risks and opportunities, tracking actions and escalating where required to keep the organisation on track. Champion financial performance by delivering high-quality insight and challenge across the charity
- Benchmarking and KPIs: Develop and maintain a suite of KPIs and benchmarks to track financial and operational performance, including monitoring the external market and competitor landscape to contextualise Nuffield Health's position
- Support Strategic Planning: Work closely with the FP&A Director on the medium-term strategic plan, developing planning tools and models that improve quality and efficiency across the finance function
- Operational Finance: Manage the financial reporting timetable, coordinating inputs across the finance function to ensure deadlines are met consistently
- Ad Hoc Analysis: Respond to ad hoc data requests from senior stakeholders, providing accurate, well-structured analysis to support decision-making
About YouYou'll be a technically strong, commercially minded finance professional who is equally comfortable building a consolidated P&L as you are presenting to a Board audience. You'll also bring:
- Fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, or CIMA) with significant post-qualification experience in FP&A or senior finance business partnering
- Proven experience consolidating budgets and P&Ls across a complex, multi-entity or multi-divisional organisation; experience with Adaptive Planning or a similar enterprise planning tool would be an advantage.
- Confidence operating at C-suite level, with strong influencing and communication skills and the ability to build trusted relationships quickly
- The ability to translate financial complexity into clear, Board-ready narratives and high-quality slide decks
