Description

Job Title: Day1 Occupational Health Nurse
Location: Glasgow/Hybrid
Salary: £36,465 per annum + benefits
Contract Type: Permanent
Hours: Full time, mix of weekdays, weekends and nights, based on three long shifts per week (13.3 hours per shift). Rota planning will be undertaken to ensure service coverage across operating hours

We are looking for an enthusiastic Occupational Health Nurse to join our growing Day One Service team. This is an exciting opportunity to develop your career within Occupational Health, working in a supportive and innovative environment where training, development, and employee wellbeing are at the heart of what we do.

This hybrid role offers the flexibility of working primarily from home, with occasional office attendance as required following training and successful completion of probation.

About the Role
As a Day One Occupational Health Nurse, you will play a vital role in supporting employees from the very start of their absence. Through compassionate clinical assessments and evidence-based advice, you'll help promote employee wellbeing, support attendance, and contribute to positive health outcomes for both individuals and organisations. Training will be held at our Glasgow office and would be over a two week initial period.

The role operates on a rota basis covering weekdays, weekends, and nights, working three long shifts per week (13.3 hours per shift), offering an excellent work-life balance with more days off each week.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct early absence management assessments and interventions.
  • Manage inbound and outbound calls in line with Day One service requirements.
  • Provide professional clinical advice regarding health, wellbeing, absence management, and fitness for work.
  • Complete accurate clinical documentation and maintain confidential health records.
  • Build positive relationships with employees, managers, and clients through effective communication and support.
  • Contribute to clinical governance, service quality, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Deliver a high standard of customer service while maintaining professional clinical standards.

What We're Looking For
We're seeking a caring, motivated, and adaptable nurse who thrives in a fast-paced environment and enjoys making a meaningful difference to people's working lives.

Essential Requirements:
  • Registered Nurse (NMC Registered) with a valid PIN and no restrictions.
  • Minimum of 6 months' UK-based clinical experience.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong clinical assessment and decision-making abilities.
  • Good IT skills, including confidence using electronic case management systems.
  • Ability to work independently in a remote or hybrid environment.
  • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to confidently manage telephone-based clinical consultations.
  • Flexibility to participate in a rota covering weekdays, weekends, and night shifts.

Occupational Health Experience?
Previous Occupational Health experience is desirable but not essential. If you're an experienced nurse looking to move into Occupational Health, we'll provide comprehensive training and ongoing support to help you succeed.

What We Offer
  • Competitive salary and benefits package.
  • Permanent, full-time position.
  • Flexible hybrid working model.
  • Comprehensive induction and full Occupational Health training.
  • Supportive and collaborative clinical team.
  • Structured professional development opportunities.
  • Opportunity to develop specialist Occupational Health skills.
  • Work within a growing and progressive healthcare service.
  • A role where your clinical expertise has a direct impact on employee wellbeing and workplace health outcomes.

Why Join Us?
This is more than just a nursing role. It's an opportunity to use your clinical skills in a different way, supporting employees when they need it most while developing a rewarding career in Occupational Health. You'll join a friendly and supportive team that values professional growth, flexibility, and work-life balance.

Apply today and take the next step in your nursing career with a role that offers flexibility, development, and the opportunity to make a real difference every day.
