Main duties of the job
As a Bank Consultant Dermatologist, you will provide specialist dermatology consultations to private patients within a professional, patient-focused healthcare environment in Gloucester.

You will assess patients, establish diagnoses and develop appropriate treatment and management plans, ensuring each patient receives a high standard of personalised care.

The role will include:

• Conducting consultant-led dermatology clinics and patient assessments.
• Reviewing medical histories, symptoms and previous investigations.
• Providing expert advice, diagnosis and treatment recommendations.
• Discussing treatment options clearly with patients and supporting informed decision-making.
• Providing appropriate follow-up and ongoing management where required.
• Maintaining accurate, comprehensive and timely clinical documentation.
• Communicating effectively with referring clinicians and the wider healthcare team.
• Working collaboratively with the hospital's clinical and administrative teams to provide a seamless patient journey.
• Maintaining the highest standards of clinical governance, patient safety and professional practice.

The role offers flexibility around your existing commitments, with clinic sessions agreed according to your availability and the needs of the service.

Optimised Care is seeking an experienced Bank Consultant Dermatologist to join our growing consultant-led private healthcare service in Gloucester.

This is a flexible opportunity for a Consultant Dermatologist looking to develop or complement their private practice alongside existing NHS, private or professional commitments.

You will provide high-quality consultant-led dermatology care to private patients, supported by an experienced clinical and administrative team.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct consultant-led dermatology clinics and specialist assessments.
• Diagnose and manage a broad range of dermatological conditions.
• Develop personalised treatment and management plans.
• Discuss diagnoses, treatment options and risks with patients.
• Arrange appropriate investigations, treatment and follow-up.
• Maintain accurate and timely clinical records.
• Provide appropriate clinical correspondence to referring clinicians.
• Work collaboratively with the wider clinical and administrative team.
• Maintain high standards of patient safety, clinical governance and professional practice.
• Work within your recognised scope of practice and agreed practising privileges.

Specialist Interests
We welcome Consultants with additional specialist or procedural interests who may wish to help develop the dermatology service.

Depending on experience, credentialing and practising privileges, this may include areas such as skin lesion assessment, minor dermatological procedures, biopsies and other specialist treatments.

About You
You will be an experienced Consultant Dermatologist with:

• Full GMC registration and licence to practise.
• Appropriate specialist training and Consultant-level experience.
• Relevant experience within dermatology.
• Appropriate professional indemnity cover.
• A commitment to excellent patient care and clinical governance.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• The ability to work autonomously while contributing positively to a multidisciplinary team.
