Owen Mumford is looking to hire two Metrology Technicians! Could this be your next role?

As the Metrology Technicians you will undertake metrology activities to ensure the timely completion of metrology for development, validation and other components and to produce robust, clear and consistent data.

Please be aware the roles are offered on a 6 & 12 Month Fixed Term Contract.

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct dimensional inspection of components using OGP measurement systems and a range of manual inspection equipment.
• Create, maintain, and optimise OGP inspection programs to support production and quality requirements.
• Inspect and verify components against engineering drawings, specifications, and defined acceptance criteria.
• Identify, document, and escalate non-conforming results in line with quality processes.
• Collaborate with Production, Quality, and Engineering teams to resolve measurement queries and prioritise inspection activities.
• Maintain accurate inspection records, ensuring measurement methods are consistent, repeatable, and compliant with quality standards.
• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives by supporting the development and refinement of inspection methods and processes.

To be successful in this role, you will need:

• Previous experience within a metrology, inspection, quality assurance, or precision engineering environment.
• Practical experience using OGP measurement systems is highly desirable.
• Proficient in the use of standard manual measuring equipment, including verniers, micrometers, and gauges.
• Ability to interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and dimensional tolerances.
• Comfortable working independently while adhering to quality procedures, inspection standards, and best practices.
• Strong attention to detail with a methodical approach to inspection and problem-solving.
• Effective communication skills, with the ability to clearly record and report measurement results and non-conformances.
• Good organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple inspection priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
